2,400 pupils receive free school supplies in Quezon


TIAONG, Quezon – Mayor Vincent Arjay Mea distributed free school supplies to public elementary students during the opening of classes here on Monday, July 29.

About 2,400 kindergarten to Grade 6 pupils of the Tiaong East Elementary and Claro. M. Recto Memorial Central School received the items purchased by Mea with personal money.

A total of 600 students were the recipients at Tiaong East Elementary School and 1,800 at Claro M. Recto Memorial Central School.

Mea is targeting to provide school supplies to 15,000 pupils from 35 elementary schools here.

Meanwhile, Mea said that he has sought the help of House Deputy Speaker David C. Suarez in securing the assistance of Education Secretary Sonny Angara in the construction of 96 more classrooms in the municipality to address the shortage of learning facilities.

Mea added that he is targeting to complete the repair of all defective classrooms here before the end of school year 2024-2025.
