ILOILO CITY – Police Col. Joeresty Coronica presented his accomplishments before his impending exit as Iloilo City Police Office chief.

“I’m not from this city, but I tried my best to keep the peace and order,” said Coronica who presented his accomplishments as top cop during a weekend thanksgiving dinner.
Coronica is set to be replaced by Police Col. Kim Legarda.
He said one of his top achievements was the opening of four new police stations here on July 2.
“It was at no cost to the Philippine National Police (PNP),” said Coronica.
Coronica worked out with the city government and a barangay council to beef up police presence in four different districts of this city.
Almost 200 policemen were deployed in the four police stations that can serve more than 143,000 residents.
During Coronica's stint, the Iloilo City police seized P129.5-million worth of illegal drugs and nabbed 867 drug suspects in 561 anti-drug operations from January 27, 2023 to July 12, 2024.
However, Police Staff Sgt. Michael Malan of the ICPO Special Weapons and Tactics Team perished in an anti-illegal drug operation on October 29, 2023.
Six-hundred eight-nine wanted persons were arrested from January 27, 2023 to July 12, 2024 – 126 most wanted persons and 563 other wanted persons.
Five-hundred eight-three individuals were arrested for illegal gambling in 148 operations and P290,805 in bet money was confiscated.
Forty-nine persons were arrested and 274 firearms as well as 21 explosives were seized in the campaign against loose firearms.
