Foreign envoys join PH Pride March


Foreign envoys in the Philippines joined Saturday, June 22, in the celebration of Pride Month in the country.

The ambassadors of Germany, France, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom and the embassies of Colombia, Mexico and Spain joined in the celebration held in Quezon City.

German Ambassador Andreas Pfaffernoshke said Germany is proud to participate in the gathering as it is one of the co-chairs, along with Mexico, of the Equal Rights Coalition.

"We joined the Pride March to celebrate all kinds of love and gender identity!" Pfaffernoshke said in a post on X.

Australian Ambassador HK Yu said Australia is a committed LGBTQ+ ally in the Philippines.

Yu said the Australian government supports local efforts to promote inclusivity, and that it is calling for an end to discrimination and hate.

"Today, I march with the Filipino LGBTQIA+ community—fighting for, and celebrating, all kinds of love #LoveLaban2Everyone," the diplomat said as she joined in pride march towards Quezon City Memorial Circle.

The Canadian embassy said Canada will stand forever side-by-side with the members of the LGBTQ+ community in the Philippines in defense of equality.

"Sending a massive shoutout to my colleagues who joined forces for #LoveLaban2Everyone! Let's spread love and acceptance, no matter who you love or how you identify!" added European Union Ambassador Luc Veron in a post on X.
