Rep. Tulfo still top choice for 2025 senatorial race — Tangere survey

ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo maintained his lead as a potential senatorial candidate for the 2025 senatorial elections in a survey conducted by Tangere from June 11 to 15.

In the survey results released on Saturday, June 22, Tulfo received a three percent increase in his voter preference for the second consecutive month, leading potential candidates with a 57.17 percent voter preference.

He continued to benefit from the support of the National Capital Region (NCR), Southern Luzon, and Central Luzon, as well as the middle-income and lower-income classes.

He was followed by former president Rodrigo Duterte, who remained in 2nd place with a 50.83 percent voter preference.

Tangere noted that Duterte experienced a three percent decrease in his voter preference for the second consecutive month.

The former president continued to draw support from Mindanao respondents but saw a notable decrease in voter preferences in the NCR, Southern Luzon, and Northern Luzon.

Following closely in 3rd place was Senator Bong Go, with a 47.08 percent voter preference, and in 4th place was former Senator Tito Sotto, with 43.75 percent.

The survey also showed Senator Pia Cayetano moving up to 5th place with a 41.25 percent voter preference after a notable increase in the NCR.

Meanwhile, broadcast journalist Ben Tulfo placed 6th with a 40.83 percent voter preference.

Rounding out the top 12 were Senator Lito Lapid (7th, 40.08 percent), Senator Imee Marcos (8th, 39.58 percent), former Senator Manny Pacquiao (9th, 37.5 percent), former Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso (10th, 35.42 percent), former Senator Panfilo Lacson (11th, 35 percent), and Senator Francis Tolentino (12th, 34.17 percent).

The survey also identified personalities who “nearly” made it to the top 12. They were Senator Bong Revilla (33.33 percent), Senator Bato Dela Rosa (33.13 percent), and social media personality Dr. Willie Ong (32.92 percent).

Tangere also highlighted the “biggest gainers” in the June survey, which include Leyte 4th District Rep. Richard Gomez who moved from 21st place to 16th place after a 4.6 percent increase in his voter preference; Finance Secretary Ralph Recto who climbed from 22nd place to 18th place after a 3 percent increase in voter preference; and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar who posted a 4.4 percent increase in her voter preference, moving from 30th place to 27th place.

The survey was conducted using a mobile-based respondent application with a sample size of 2,400 participants, employing a stratified random sampling or quota-based sampling method.

The respondents were proportionately distributed across the Philippines—12 percent from NCR, 23 percent from Northern Luzon, 22 percent from Southern Luzon, 20 percent from Visayas, and 23 percent from Mindanao.
