Laborer yields P2.4-M marijuana in Tabuk City


TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Police nabbed a 20-year-old drug pusher in a buy-bust operation here on June 19.

Seized from the suspect, a construction worker, was 20 dried marijuana bricks weighing approximately 20 kilograms worth P2.4 million.

The suspect and the pieces of evidence were brought to the Tabuk police station for documentation and proper disposition.

Cases for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspect.

Meanwhile, police found a marijuana plantation in Barangay Butbut Proper, Tinglayan, Kalinga during an eradication operation on June 19.

Found were 12,000 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P2.4 million. These were destroyed after documentation.
