Darren Espanto has come out to deny allegations that he is no longer welcome at the Legaspi household.
He told us recently, “Walang katotohanan yung mga lumalabas na tsismis.”
“We’re good,” he added. “There’s no truth to that at all. Wala kaming problema ni Cassy or ni Mavy or sino man sa (Legaspi) family.”
Talk about an alleged falling out involving Darren and the rest of the Legaspi family started in April, with the singer-actor coming out to declare he and Cassy are simply “best friends.”
Supposedly, Cassy didn’t like it.

Fans made the conclusion based simply on Cassy posting on social media the lyrics of Olivia Rodrigo’s “Perfect Crime” right after.
Adding to the hullabaloo is Cassy’s mom Carmina who around that time also posted a quote card with the words “Don’t expect the same in return.”
Cassy was eventually forced to explain her side publicly following fan frenzy.
She clarified she and her mom were not insinuating anything with their posts.
She added that she likes posting song lyrics on social media depending on her mood, while Carmina just likes to share quotes, even Bible verses.
Darren did the same, appearing in a TV interview to maintain "she doesn't have any ill feelings towards me — she and her family."
But the talk persists, this, even with Cassy greeting Darren on his birthday last May.
She wrote, “Happy Happy Birthday DB!! ‘D Total Package.’ Stay kind & true to yourself always D (alam mo na yun....hehe) don't forget to pace yourself and take care of yourself. You already know that I'm always here for you and I always have been.”
It wasn’t enough for fans who were actually expecting Cassy to appear at a recent concert meant to commemorate Darren’s 10th year in the ‘biz.
After all, most of Darren’s friends from showbiz were there.
Even Alexa Ilacad who also staged a concert prior.
Darren downplayed this, maintaining, “Hindi lang si Cass available.”
“Pero the congratulated me na even before pa, Cassy and Mavy,” Darren maintained. “Like even while we were preparing pa lang for the concert, like during rehearsals, both of them would always call or text para kamustahin ako and give me encouragement.”
But why aren’t they seen together as frequently of late?
“Siguro kasi kami ni Cass we’re taking on different paths, career-wise,” Darren said. “And we’re busy doing our own thing, individually. But that doesn’t mean we’re not close anymore. We’re just busy with stuff.”
