I immediately said yes when Gorgy Rula asked me if I could host Nay Lolit Solis’ 77^th birthday party. (as if naman may choice ako!) I super love the “Harbat” Queen and I don't like to miss this momentous event. (buti nalang wala akong booking nung araw na yun!)

The party was held last Sunday, May 19, at the Oriental Palace Quezon City. (May 20 ang birthday ng lola!) The invitation indicated that it would start at 11 a.m. (kulang na lang maging breakfast party to!) There was even a reminder that guests' seating arrangements would depend on their cash gifts to the celebrator. (hindi naman yan nasunod pero tawang tawa ako sa part na ito!)

It was already 11 a.m. but Nay Lolit was not yet in the venue. It was a strange scenario because she is never late in any event. (minsan nga sarado pa ang venue, nasa parking na yan!) I even joked that the birthday girl (girl?!) might not show up. (attitude at ipapadala nalang mga regalo sa bahay nya!) But no, apparently, Gorgy just instructed her to have a dramatic entrance. (dumating noong kumpleto na ang bisita!)

Nay Lolit was ecstatic because despite seeing people close to her heart, envelopes were overflowing! (hindi na magkasya sa dala nyang tote bag!) She did not leave the table of her rich friends headed by billionaire Alice Eduardo (kebs na sya sa ibang bisita. Charot lang!)

The tribute video from her Startalk family was hilarious! (walang kupas ang team na ito na nakasama niya for 20 years!) Her friend and former boss Wilma Galvante gave a special message after the video playback. (isa raw si Nay Lolit sa dahilan kung bakit nag number one ang GMA noon, kahit bumabati lang naman sya sa show!)

Her “alagas” were present to give their testimonials like  Alfred Vargas, Paolo Contis, Benjie Paras, Tonton Gutierrez, Glydel Mercado,  Sandy Andolong, PatP Daza, Nanette Medved at Congresswoman Lani Mercado Revilla (na major sponsor ng handaan ha!) Christopher De Leon at Tirso Cruz III did special numbers (with a bonus performance from Arman Ferrer!) 

Senator Bong Revilla was not able to attend the party because he is still recuperating from a surgery. (pero siyempre sila ni Cong. Lani ang sumagot ng event! at may pa-video message naman sya!)  There were surprise videos from Lorna Tolentino (na nasa Cannes), Gladys Reyes (na nasa London), QC Mayor Joy Belmonte and Sir Miguel Belmonte. (Papa Miguel nya yan!)

Nay Lolit didn’t want to go up on stage during the program but she had no choice but to take the hot seat when I introduced Boy Abunda for his Fast Talk segment. (bentang benta mga sagot! trending yan pag inupload sa yt!)

The controversial veteran showbiz host/columnist/manager considers this celebration her happiest birthday. (ang laki siguro ng nakolekta!) She even said: “nag-melt talaga ang heart ko.” (at may heart sya ha!)

Happy Birthday Nay Lolit!  We love you! You are in my heart, always. (baka naman may pa-havs ka dyan!)
