Actor Kim Soo-hyun thanks viewers, staff of ‘Queen of Tears’: I am happy 


Kim Soo-hyun thanked viewers, directors, staff and fellow actors of the hit drama “Queen of Tears,” which made ratings history with its 16th and final episode. 

“Queen of Tears” which also starred actress Kim Ji-won, garnered 24.85 percent nationwide rating for its 16th episode on April 28 to set the record for the highest viewership rating of all time on channel tvN

In the drama, Kim Soo-hyun played the role of Baek Hyun-woo, the husband of Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won). This was the first time that Kim Soo-hyun played the role of a husband. 

"If you count the time I spent researching the character, I spent over a year with Baek Hyun-woo, but I feel both regretful and disappointed," he said. 

He added, "I am also very thankful for the time I was able to meet the best actors. Thanks to this, I was able to not lose focus on the incredibly emotional scenes, and I feel like it was a truly special piece of work. I am happy.”

"I hope you were happy while watching 'Queen of Tears'. Thank you to everyone who watched, and I also thank the writers, directors, all the staff, seniors, and actors who worked together to make it," said Kim Soo-hyun. 

In a photo released by tvN, Kim Soo-hyun is seen holding a handwritten note, which read, “No. 1 in viewership ratings of all time. Please watch one more time from the beginning. Thank you.”

“Queen of Tears” surpassed the nationwide rating of 21.683 percent of “Crash Landing on You” to become the highest rated drama on tvN and the third most watched drama on cable TV in South Korea.
