The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said 15 areas may experience “dangerous” heat indices on Monday, April 22.

PAGASA said a heat index of 45 degrees Celsius (°C) may be recorded at the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) station in Pili, Camarines Sur.
A heat index of 44°C may also be felt in Infanta, Quezon; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; and Aborlan, Palawan.
In Dagupan, Pangasinan; Aparri, Cagayan; Legazpi City, Albay; Virac, Catanduanes; Guiuan, Eastern Samar; and Maabate, City, Masbate, a heat index of 43°C may be felt.
Meanwhile, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Roxas City, Capiz; Dumangas, Iloilo; Iloilo City, Iloilo; and Catarman, Northern Samar may have a heat index of 42°C.
Based on the daily heat index report of PAGASA, the highest heat index so far since 2024 began was recorded in Roxas City, Capiz at 48°C.
