Eric Nam cast in ‘Aang: The Last Airbender’ animated movie 


Korean-American singer Eric Nam has been cast as the voice of Aang in the “Aang: The Last Airbender” animated movie by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Studios. 

This was announced during Paramount’s presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

Nam will join Dave Bautista as lead voice cast in  “Aang: The Last Airbender” (working title), Variety reported. Bautista will voice a villain character in the film. 

Other cast members in the movie are Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten and Roman Zaragoza. 

The animated film will be released on Oct. 10, 2025, the report stated. 

“Aang: The Last Airbender” will be directed by Lauren Montgomery, who was part of the “Avatar: The Last Airbender” series. The executive producers Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. 

In response to the news, Nam replied on X with emojis: “👀🫶.”

“The original animated “Avatar” series ran from 2005 to 2008 on Nickelodeon, with “The Legend of Korra” continuing its story from 2012 to 2014. The shows follow the adventures of the mystical Avatar, a person who can master all four elements of nature: air, water, earth and fire. The original series starred Avatar Aang, who must learn to master the elements to defeat the evil Fire Nation with his friends Katara, Sokka and Toph. Netflix released a live-action version of the show earlier this year,” the Variety report added.
