Minor, 2 women hurt in Valenzuela fire


Two women and a minor were hurt in a fire that struck a residential area in Barangay Lingunan, Valenzuela City, on Friday, March 15.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), injured were Meann Del Rosario, 32, who sustained first-degree burns on her left shoulder and arm; Caroline Okay, 50, who sustained first-degree burns on the right arm, and a two-year-old boy who sustained first-degree burns on his forehead.

The fire, which started at 8:36 a.m., quickly escalated to the second alarm at 8:40 a.m.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control at 9:01 a.m., and it was extinguished by 9:29 a.m.

As of writing this, authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
