Police and barangay officials have banned residents from visiting the area in Barangay Bued where the serpent’s skin was found.

Mayor Kevin Roy Q. Macanlalay said that residents are strictly prohibited from going to the area because it is  infested with different kinds of snakes. “It’s for everyone's safety,” Macanlalay said.

Macanlalay, police, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, and Municipal Environment Natural Resources Office visited Barangay Bued on Tuesday, February 27, hours after the snake skin was discovered and became viral online.

A vlogger and snake rescuer, PrincessTuklaw, also proceeded the area.

The snake skin was allegedly from a 30-year-old reticulated python about 16- to 25-feet long.

The MDRRMO reminded the people that it is snake season. "Stay well and be safe. It's snake season. It's very hot and they are highly active and get agitated and angry very fast."

MDRRMO shared safety tips against snakes – avoid leaving windows open for too long, avoid leaving front doors open for fresh air in the evening, and before sitting under a tree that has cooling shade, check the branches to ensure there are no snakes lurking.
