Cops search for woman who abandoned newborn in Quezon


MULANAY, Quezon – Police are searching for a woman who abandoned a newborn baby boy at the Saint Peter the Apostle Parish Church in this town on Tuesday, February 20.

In a progress report on Thursday, February 22, police conducted surveillance footage backtracking and found out that the baby was left by a woman wearing gray hoodie jacket, black short, and face mask.

The infant was found underneath a statue of Saint Peter at around 5:46 p.m. by a faithful praying inside the church.  

He was turned over to the custody of the Rev. Fr. Vicenzo Ida Children's Home Inc., a child care institution in Barangay Quilo-Quilo South in Padre Garcia, Batangas, for commitment.

Necessary documents are being prepared for the processing of the foundling’s certificate of live birth.
