The Road Warriors have added another former San Beda standout after signing free agent Baser Amer, the team announced on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Present in the signing were board of governor Ronald Dulatre, team manager Larry Fonacier, coach Frankie Lim and NLEX president and general manager J. Luigi L. Bautista.

“The NLEX Road Warriors officially announce the addition of seasoned point guard Baser Amer to the team!,” said the team in its announcement post.

“Baser is expected to provide a big boost in facilitating plays on the hardcourt and additional firepower in scoring,” it added.

Amer, who turned free agent after he and Blackwater failed to agree on a deal, gets reunited with Lim who handled him during his college days at San Beda.

The 31-year-old guard is set to share the backcourt with another former Red Lion star in Robert Bolick in the upcoming Philippine Cup.

Aside from Bolick, other former San Beda players in the NLEX lineup are Jake Pascual, Dave Marcelo and Anthony Semerad.

NLEX’s move to sign Amer is still part of the efforts to plug in the hole left by star guard Kevin Alas who was sidelined by another ACL injury and the departure of former leading scorer Don Trollano who the Road Warriors sent away as part of the package to acquire Bolick.
