Marcos urges Filipinos: Draw inspiration from acts drawn in face of adversity

President Marcos on Wednesday, Jan. 1, urged the Filipino people to find inspiration in the good acts drawn from the hardships in the past year as the nation welcomes the New Year.

In his message, the President said reflecting on the resilience shown by Filipinos in overcoming the challenges from calamities that disrupted our lives in 2024, it is just “crucial for our progress to esteem such moments as hallmarks of the extraordinary strength we gain through solidarity and perseverance.”

“As we move forward into 2025, we look ahead with renewed hope and optimism knowing that our experiences will guide us into building a future filled with promise and purpose,” Marcos said.

“Let us draw inspiration from the innumerable acts of courage, compassion, and bayanihan that we have witnessed in the face of adversity,” he added.

The President said it is only then that Filipinos can fortify the bonds that connect us, truly rebuild what has been lost, and realize a Bagong Pilipinas (new Philippines), where dreams flourish and every Filipino thrives.

Marcos joined the nation in welcoming the New Year, which he said is an occasion widely heralded as an opportunity to learn from lessons of the past as well as to apply wisdom gained to better oneself.

He said it is his desire for the citizens to embrace this outlook and adopt an introspective and growth-focused mindset that balances the realities of yesterday and the promises of tomorrow.
