Taiwan needs Filipino skilled workers

Taiwan is still open to hiring Filipino skilled workers as the demand for them remains high.

Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) Representative Wallace Chow said that the Philippines is "one of the most important source" that is providing skilled workers to the island.

"I forward to the increasing of Filipino OFWs (overseas Filipino workers) to work in Taiwan," he said in an interview on Friday, Dec. 20.

According to him, there will be high demand particularly in the semiconductor industry as he said Taiwan’s is the most important in the world.

"And for the next decade, I would say, AI industry. And so I think we need more and more skilled workers from around the neighboring countries," he added.
