Cloudy, rainy conditions persist over parts of Luzon due to northeasterly wind flow

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Thursday, Oct. 10 that parts of Luzon will continue to experience cloudy and rainy weather due to the prevailing northeasterly wind flow.

The northeasterly wind flow, or the initial blast of cold winds from the northeast monsoon (amihan), may affect Batanes, Apayao, and Cagayan.

PAGASA warned against flash floods or landslides that may occur due to occasional heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

The public is also advised to remain vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA Weather Specialist Benison Estareja said the country could expect a cyclone-free weekend, with only isolated rain showers, particularly in the afternoon or evening due, to localized thunderstorms.
