ILOILO CITY – Reelectionist Rep. Lorenz “Noy” Defensor of the third district will push amendments to the Revised Penal Code if he is elected to a third and final term.

“We need to amend, update, and consolidate criminal laws,” said Defensor as he filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) here on Friday, October 4.
“For the longest time, we still have not been able to do that. I will try,” added Defensor, a lawyer by profession.
The proposed amendment to the Revised Penal Code is one of his priority measures of national significance.
Defensor has been principal author of several proposed pending bills.
These include creation of a Department of Water Resources, open data access to the National Telecommunications Commission, agriculture information system, inclusion of the Philippine Constitution in the senior high school curriculum, exemption of income tax for military uniform personnel, and establishment of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center for the Visayas, among others.
Defensor assured there will be more proposed bills with local significance.
