Tanay reopens tourism activities in scenic villages

The municipal government of Tanay has permitted all tourist-related activities across various attractions within the municipality.

Mayor Rafael “Lito” Tanjuatco's office announced via the town government's social media platforms that the local administration is welcoming tourists eager to discover the municipality's natural beauty.

The Municipal Tourism Office also revealed that outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and all water activities are now allowed in Barangay Cayabu, Cuyambay, Daraitan, Laiban, Mamuyao, San Andres, Sta. Ines, Sto. Nino, and Tinucan, starting on Oct. 29.Tanay Tourism Activities .png

In September, most of the upland villages where the tourist spots are located were inundated by floods as a result of the effects of the monsoon that was enhanced by Typhoon Enteng.

During the onslaught of Typhoon Kristine, earlier this week, the threat of flood and landslide and the loss of electricity in some upland villages had prompted the municipal government to temporarily ban outdoor activities for tourists in the upland tourism sites.

Local and foreign tourists go to the town's mountain villages to enjoy the cold weather, sports activities including hiking, mountain climbing, river trekking, horse back riding, and all terrain vehicle (ATV) riding in rivers and mountain sides.
