President Marcos on Friday, Nov. 1, refused to comment on Vice President Sara Duterte’s warning that she would dig up his father, former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr.’s remains.
“I’d rather not. Thank you,” Marcos said in a chance interview during his visit to his father’s tomb at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
Marcos also refused to comment when asked about the fallout of his relationship with Duterte. He said he would prefer to talk about it on some other time.
On Oct. 18, Duterte said she threatened Sen. Imee Marcos to dig up from the grave and throw the former president's body to the West Philippine Sea.
Her warning came after she was asked about her opinion on former president Rodrdigo Duterte's decision to bury the body of the older Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes' Cemetery).
"Isang beses sinabihan ko talaga si Senator Imee, sabi ko sa kanya, pag di kayo tumigil huhukyain ko yang tatay ninyo. Itatapon ko sya sa West Philippine Sea (One time, I told Senator Imee that if they wouldn't stop, I would dig up her father's body and throw it to the West Philippine Sea)," Duterte said in a sit-down with the media.
