Kim Soo-mi was born in 1949 and debuted as an actress in 1970. She appeared in dramas and movies including “Behind Every Star,” “Man in the Kitchen,” “Band of Sisters,” “4 Legendary Witches,” “Incarnation of Money,” “Ohlala Couple,” “Unstoppable Marriage,” "Marrying the Mafia," "Mr. Zoo: The Missing VIP," "Enemies In-Law" and "Granny's Got Talent."

She was hospitalized in May and June due to fatigue and stopped her activities.

In September, she appeared on a home shopping channel but viewers became worried as she looked swollen and had slurred speech.

She denied she was sick, saying, "I'm fine. People were talking about health issues, but there's no problem at all. The reason my speech was slurred at the time was because I have implants," according to Sports Chosun.

Her funeral will be held at the Hanyang University Hospital funeral hall.
