More areas in Eastern Visayas cancel classes due to ‘Kristine’


TACLOBAN CITY – More areas in Eastern Visayas suspended classes on Tuesday, Oct. 22, due to tropical depression “Kristine.”

The entire province of Northern Samar suspended classes on all levels in public and private schools.

In Eastern Samar, the municipalities of Arteche and Dolores and Borongan City cancelled classes while San Julian suspended classes and work in government and private establishments.

In Leyte province, the municipalities of Palo, Tolosa, Babatngon, Carigara, Tanauan, Alangalang, Tabontabon, Tabango, Villaba, Barugo, Tunga, and Dagami suspended classes while Jaro and Matag-ob also cancelled classes and work in government offices.

In Tacloban City, the Department of Education City Division suspended class from Kinder to Grade 12.

In Samar province, Calbayog City, Daram, and Motiong towns suspended classes while Catbalogan City cancelled classes on all levels and work in government and private institutions.

The municipality of Calbiga suspended classes from kinder to high school.

In Biliran province, classes and work were suspended in the municipalities of Caibiran, Naval, Almeria, and Kawayan.
