Funeral for 'The Glory' actress Park Ji-ah held

Song Kye-hyo’s mother in the hit Netflix drama “The Glory” was laid to rest.

The funeral for actress Park Ji-ah (Park Ji-A) was held on Oct. 2 at the Asan Medical Center funeral hall in Seoul. The burial site was Kapsan Park in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.

Park Ji-ah (박지아), 52, died on Sept. 30 due to cerebral infarction (ischemic stroke), her agency, Billions Entertainment, announced.

"Park Ji-ah passed away at the age of 52 after battling a cerebral infarction at 2:50 a.m. today. We will forever remember the deceased's passion for acting until the very end," her agency said on Sept. 30.

In “The Glory,” Park Ji-ah played the role of Jung Mi-hee, the mother of Moon Dong-eun (Song Hye-kyo).

It was reported that “The Glory” cast expressed their condolences. Song Hye-kyo, Jung Sung-il, Park Sung-hoon, Kim Hee-ra, and Kim Gun-woo visited the funeral hall or sent condolences to pay their respects.

Song Hye-kyo sent a wreath, according to a report from a Korean media outlet.

Actress Yeom Hye-ran, who appeared in “The Glory,” visited the funeral hall and went to her funeral.

Park Ji-ah’s last drama project was “Salon de Holmes.” Korean media outlet SpoTV reported that Park Ji-ah was filming “Salon de Holmes” when she became ill.

She suffered a stroke in early July while filming the drama. Until the early part of the year, she performed in the play “Wife.”
