At a glance

  • At one point in the media con, Lovi stated she felt violated while doing some scenes, but later recanted and corrected herself in front of her director.

Lovi Poe

‘Like father, like daughter’ amply applies in the case of Lovi Poe, who briefly went home from residency abroad to shoot a film and promote it. Following in the footsteps of her late dad, Fernando Poe Jr., she has been actively pursuing the twin careers of acting and producing.

Her latest, Guilty Pleasure, a mature sex-drama set in the legal profession, opened on Oct. 16. Earlier, Lovi also produced another film, Seasons, which had a more wholesome nature.

“I want to produce more films, tell more stories, be involved in the creative process,” she told a recent media con. Lovi’s own CéstLovi Productions has partnered with Regal Entertainment in coming up with the film, described by MJ Felipe as the sexiest movie to hit the screens before Christmas.

Director Connie Macatuno says Guilty Pleasure, also starring JM de Guzman, is all about broken friendships and betrayal. Cast in what is probably her most daring role yet, Lovi admits playing the upwardly mobile lawyer Alexis in the film has been a been a big risk. The role entails a number of steamy love scenes, including a couple of nude shots featuring co-actor Jameson Blake.

At one point in the media con, Lovi stated she felt violated while doing some scenes, but later recanted and corrected herself in front of her director.

“I realized I was dressed less and less as   filming went on,” she laughed.
