At the recently concluded Southeast Asia Bespoke AI Laundry Combo Tech Forum 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand, Samsung Electronics gave us an in-depth experience on how advanced innovations like AI and energy efficiency features in Samsung's  Bespoke AI Laundry Combo can transform everyday lives.  

The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo is Samsung's new all-in-one washer and dryer.  Its sleek dark steel, ventless design requires only 5.3 cu. ft. of space, making it perfect for smaller spaces.  Additionally, since it is a washer and dryer in a single unit, there is no need to transfer loads from wash to dry, preventing accidental water spills.  You can simply load the laundry and let the machine do its job.  And much like any reliable household assistant, the SmartThings mobile app will send notifications when the cycle ends .  

The unit features a 7-inch AI Hub LCD display that serves as a central hub for easy navigation.  It shows everything you need to know about the machine's status, including cycle details, remaining amount of detergent, energy consumption, and connected devices/appliances within your home.  Users can also view and navigate remotely from the SmartThings App from their smartphones.

The Samsung Bespoke AI Laundry Combo features the AI Wash and Dry function to prevent these common issues.  With the use of laser sensors and AI, it monitors and assesses weight of the. load, dirt or soil levels and fabric type, automatically calculating the water and detergent to be used during the wash cycle and adjusting the dry settings accordingly.

Overuse of hot water and detergent - the idea that the hotter the water always means better cleaning is a misconception.  Often, it can damage delicate fabrics and lead to high energy costs.  With the AI EcoBubble feature in the Samsung Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, you don't need to rely on hot water to clean clothes effectively.  Further,  the AI EcoBubble feature also turns detergent into bubbles that deeply penetrate fabrics faster.  This ensures the detergent is thoroughly dissolved and evenly distributed throughout the wash, even at low water temperatures.  This feature prevents the use of too much or too little detergent which can lead to inefficient cleaning or detergent residue on clothes.  The gentle bubble action minimizes wear and tear on fabrics and is most suited for delicate items preventing damage to clothes caused by harsh wash cycles and high temperatures.

Overdrying and inefficient energy use - overdrying is one of the most common mistakes that lead to fabric shrinkage and damage.  Unlike regular dryers that use high heat, which can damage fabrics and consume more energy, Samsung's heat pump technology uses less energy by recycling warm air to dry clothes.  Additionally, it dries clothes at lower temperatures, making it more energy efficient.  The heat pump takes in warm air from the room and uses it to dry clothes inside the machine.  The heat evaporates and efficiently absorbs moisture from the wet clothes.  The heat pump then reuses the warm air to continue drying the clothes, saving energy and being gentler on fabrics.

Samsung's AI Energy Mode feature addresses the common issue of inefficient energy use.  This feature adjusts settings based on load and fabric type.  AI technology tracks the user's washing and drying habits, learns from them and automatically adjusts the settings.  Sensors monitor the load and fabric type to make automatic adjustments.  The AI Energy Mode provides a more energy-efficient alternative based on what the sensors detect.  If it senses that a cycle can be shortened or done at a lower temperature, it will automatically adjust without compromising performance.

Through the AI Energy Mode feature together with AI-drive Super Speed Cycle, users will be able to wash and dry a full load in just 98 minutes and minimizes the use of heat which translates up to 60% less energy during wash cyle and up to 30% less energy during a dry cycle.
