Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin reappointed as inside director for 3-year term

Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of Korean agency ADOR, which manages K-pop group NewJeans, has been reappointed as inside director for a three-year term.

ADOR held an extraordinary general shareholders meeting on Oct. 17 to reappoint Min Hee-jin, who is in a legal battle with HYBE, ADOR’s parent company, over her dismissal as the company’s CEO in August.

Min Hee-jin’s appointment as an inside director will expire on Nov. 1 and her reappointment for the position will start on Nov. 2.

During a shareholders meeting on Aug. 27, ADOR board of directors ousted Min Hee-jin as CEO.

As a result, she filed an injunction with a court, demanding HYBE to reappoint her as ADOR CEO.

In September, the ADOR board of directors unveiled a compromise proposal to extend Min Hee-jin’s term as inside director but not accept her return as CEO.

In an interview with a Japanese TV program, Min Hee-jin said, "Contractually, I am neither a producer nor a CEO. I have only the authority of an inside director, which is ambiguous,” according to Korean media.

In April, Min Hee-jin accused ILLIT, HYBE and Belift Lab’s new girl group, of copying NewJeans.

ADOR is an agency under HYBE, which owns 80 percent of the company. Min Hee-jin owns 18 percent while the remaining two percent is owned by the ADOR management.
