A candidate backed out of the race for the position of mayor of Pateros, the lone municipality in Metro Manila, in the May 12, 2025 national and local elections (NLE).
On Oct. 11, Pateros Councilor and independent candidate Dominador Rosales Jr. withdrew his certificate of candidacy (COC) and filed a statement of withdrawal before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Pateros office headed by election officer Armando Mallorca.
Mallorca confirmed to Manila Bulletin that Rosales withdrew his COC for mayor of Pateros.

Rosales’ withdrawal left two candidates for mayor of Pateros. They are Gerald German of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), and Ronaldo Miranda of the National Unity Party (NUP).
German said Rosales is now supporting his candidacy for mayor. German was a former vice mayor and municipal administrator of Pateros who was endorsed by outgoing Mayor Miguel Ponce III.
Miranda is a first-term councilor of the second district of Pateros.
Running for vice mayor in Pateros are incumbent Carlo Santos of the Nacionalista Party, John Mendiola Cerafica of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and John Peter Marzan of the National Unity Party (NUP).
