Comelec releases list of candidates for mayor, vice mayor, councilor in Pateros


Three candidates are running for mayor and three for vice mayor in Pateros, the lone municipality in Metro Manila, in the May 12, 2025 national and local elections (NLE).  

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Pateros office headed by Armando Mallorca released the list of aspirants who submitted their certificates for candidacy (COC) during the filing period from Oct. 1 to 8. 

Running for mayor of Pateros are Gerald German of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), Ronaldo Miranda of the National Unity Party (NUP) and independent candidate Dominador Rosales Jr.

German was a former vice mayor and municipal administrator of Pateros who was endorsed by outgoing Mayor Miguel Ponce III. 

The candidates for vice mayor are incumbent Carlo Santos of the Nacionalista Party, John Mendiola Cerafica of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and John Peter Marzan of the National Unity Party (NUP). 

Marzan ran in the 2022 election but lost to Santos in the vice mayoralty race. 

There are 25 candidates for councilor in District 1 and 18 candidates in District 2 of Pateros who will be competing for six seats in each district in the Municipal Council.
