In preparation for the rollout of the “First 1000 Days” (F1KD) conditional cash grant in 2025, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is calling on Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) household-beneficiaries with pregnant members or children up to two years old to update their profiles.

Gemma Gabuya, Director of the 4Ps-National Program Management Office, said beneficiaries can update their information through their city or municipal links by completing the Beneficiary Updating System (BUS) Form 5.

“The updating of profiles is crucial to ensure that we cover all 4Ps households with pregnant members and children not more than 2 years old in the implementation of the F1KD condition under the 4Ps,” Gabuya said in a statement on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

“The cooperation from the 4Ps households is important as this will help the 4Ps management in identifying possible and eligible recipients of conditional cash grants,” she added.

To complete the update, beneficiaries must submit documentary requirements, including the child’s birth certificate or local civil registry and a medical or health certificate for the pregnant member from their respective Rural Health Unit (RHU) or Barangay Health Station (BHS).

“This effort is part of our preparation for the implementation of the F1KD grants which is set for January next year, provided that appropriate funding will be allocated through the approval of the special provision in the General Appropriations Act (GAA),” she said.

The F1KD conditional cash grant, proposed by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., aims to provide additional support to households during the critical first 1,000 days of child development.

“This conditional grant is intended to cover essential health and nutrition needs of pregnant women and children in their first two years of life,” Gabuya said.

Under the 4Ps program, each household-beneficiary receives a health and nutrition grant of P750 per month.

The education grant is P300 per month for children in elementary school, P500 for those in junior high school, and P700 for those in senior high school.

Beneficiaries also receive a P600 rice subsidy per month.

Speaking at the “Kapihan sa Manila Prince Hotel” forum last August, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian announced that eligible 4Ps beneficiaries for the F1KD cash grant will receive P350 monthly.

He also estimated that there are approximately 650,000 pregnant and lactating women, along with families with children up to two years old, that may benefit from the additional 4Ps grant.
