Chinese national 'engaged in human trafficking, prostitution' arrested

A Chinese national, who has been declared an undocumented and undesiable alien after he was found working for a firm allegedly engaged in human trafficking and prostitution, has been arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

The bureau identified the fugitive as Du Shuizhong, 51, who was intercepted at the NAIA Terminal 1 last Sept. 19 before he could board his flight to Chengdu, China.

“Records showed that Du was previously charged by the BI for being undocumented and for undesirability after being found to be working for an establishment allegedly involved in prostitution and labor exploitation,” the bureau said.

Thus, it said, “Du was not allowed to leave and was instead arrested and brought to the BI detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.”

“Du will be sent back to China pursuant to a deportation order that the BI board of commissioners issued against him in November last year for being an undesirable alien,” it also said.

“He was also placed in the blacklist and banned from re-entering the the Philippines,” it added.
