OSG has 3 new assistant solicitors general

President Marcos has appointed three new assistant solicitors general for the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG), the government's principal law office.

Appointed were Assistant Solicitors General Jennifer F. Fandialan-Legaspi, Sarah Mae Salonga Cruz, and Jane Espineda Yu.

Their appointments were transmitted to Solicitor General Menardo I. Guevarra in a letter sent by Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin.

“Mga dati silang senior state solicitors (They were senior state solicitors prior their appointments),” said Guevarra.

Those appointed replaced former assistant solicitors general Henry S. Angeles, Derek R. Puertollano, and Penafrancia C. Carpio-Devesa.

Guevarra said that Angeles has been appointed associate justice of the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) while Devesa had retired.

He said Puertollano was dismissed but Guevarra did not dislose the reason for the dismissal from the service.

Earlier news reports stated that Puertollano had been dismissed due to three administrative charges filed against him.
