Senator Grace Poe emerged as the frontrunner among a list of possible contenders for the vice presidential race in 2028, a survey conducted by research firm WR Numero (WRN) revealed on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

In its inaugural Philippine Public Opinion Monitor, “The Opinion Monitor,” WRN found that Poe was the top choice for the vice presidential race in 2028 among a list of potential bets, receiving 22 percent of voter preference.

She was followed by Senator Imee Marcos with 15 percent.

Former Senator Manny Pacquiao (11 percent), Senator Robin Padilla (11 percent), and former Vice President Leni Robredo (9 percent) were also in the top 5 choices.

Meanwhile, WRN noted that about 11 percent were split between Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri (6 percent), Defense Secretary Gibo Teodoro (4 percent), and Speaker Martin Romualdez (2 percent).

About 21 percent were either undecided or chose candidates not not on the list.

The non-commissioned and independent survey was conducted face-to-face among 1,457 Filipino adults aged 18 and up across the country from Nov. 24 to Dec. 24, 2023.

It has a ±3 percent error margin at the 99 percent confidence level.

The error margin estimates at the sub-national level are ±9 percent for the National Capital Region, ±5 percent for the rest of Luzon, ±8 percent for Visayas, and ±7 percent for Mindanao at a 99 percent confidence level.
