A MINOR suspect in the killing of dentist Dr. Agustin Bolor surrendered to the police in Calapan City on Friday, January 19.

Police Lt. Col. Danilo U. Driz Jr., chief of the Calapan City Police Station, said the suspect, a minor, is now under their custody, including the pieces of jewelry allegedly stolen from the victim, Dr. Agustin Anacoreto M. Bolor, 63, whose body was found in the morning of January 14 inside his room in his clinic in Barangay San Vicente Central.

Driz said that he received a call from City Prosecutor Dorina H. Joya on Friday at 8:15 p.m. informing him that one of the suspects decided to surrender to authorities.

Driz, Joya, and team of policemen proceeded to the residence of the suspect here where he was turned over by his guardian.

Police conducted an inventory of the stolen items after which they were properly marked and photographed in the presence of Driz and Joya.

Bolor sustained 50 stab wounds in the body, four of which were fatal.

Police said the victim's room was ransacked and they initially eyed robbery as motive for the killing after finding out that Bolor's jewelry, cellphone, and an undetermined amount of cash were missing.

The suspects also reportedly took the victim's laptop that contained vital pieces of evidence, including surveillance footages.

Bolor was known for his flashy jewelry and filing a Certificate of Candidacy for president in the 2010 elections won by the late President Benigno S. Aquino III.

However, he was disqualified by the Commission on Elections for being a nuisance candidate with 90 others.

Mayor Malou Morillo here offered a P300,000 reward, along with the local Rotary Club, to anyone who could give information for the arrest of the suspects.
