Nine decades, four generations, one family

It was a celebration that honored the fashion and design sensibilities of Marina Antonio, her daughter Malou Veloso, sisters Vicky and Letlet Veloso, and the daughter of Vicky, Hannah Daniella V. Barrera.

A fashion legacy event was what transpired as SM Aura hosted the exhibit, “The Fashion Legacy of Marina Reyes Antonio.” It was a celebration that honored the fashion and design sensibilities of Marina Antonio, her daughter Malou Veloso, sisters Vicky and Letlet Veloso, and the daughter of Vicky, Hannah Daniella V. Barrera. It was the kind of alignment of stars that comes only every so often, as the exhibit was literally about nine decades, four generations, and one family.

A grand reunion was generated as countless doyennes of Philippine society trooped to the exhibit to offer their congratulations and warm wishes to Malou, her daughters Vicky and Letlet, and the rest of the family. Malou A. Veloso’s brother is fabled architect Ramon Antonio, who dropped by on his way to catch a flight later that night.

Vicky took on hosting duties, and that was so appropriate, as it truly was a family affair, inclusive of the “extended family” that consisted of all those who had donned creations of these designing women. There was so much goodwill wafting in the air, it was infectious, and the source of the prevailing sense of sorority.
