The Garmin Approach Z30 laser range finder may just be every golfer's new secret weapon for conquering the course.  This device is the latest addition to the Garmin golf ecosystem featuring the Range Relay. Designed to give golfers more situational awareness on the course, it delivers fast and precise distance readings up to 400 yards, assisting golfers in making smarter decisions on the green.

Here is how it works:

Through laser technology, the Z30 can measure the distance to a target.  Simply point the Z30 at your target (this may be a flagstick) and press the button.  Once it locks onto the target (vibration confirms the lock), the Z30 will calculate the distance to the target (in yards or meters).  For an elevated experience, pair the Z30 with a compatible Garmin smartwatch or the Garmin Golf app.  This way, the user will receive ranged distances directly on the paired device.

• Accurate measurements:  On-point distance readings up to 400 yards.
• Range Relay feature:  Sends ranged distances to a compatible Garmin smartwatch like the Approach S70, Approach S62, Approach S42, MARQ (Gen2) collection, epix (Gen 2) series and more or the Garmin Golf smartphone app.
• Laser Range Arc:  This is displayed on the paired Garmin device.  It provides a visual indication of the pin position and everything in play around it.
• 6X magnification:  Users will quickly see the distance to the pin from up to 400 yards away.  The 6X magnification gives a detailed view of the target.
• PlaysLike Distance:  For uphill or downhill slopes, this feature adjusts the distance based on the slope of the terrain.  For a greater level of accuracy, when paired with a compatible device it can receive distance that factors in air density.
• Magnetic Cart Mount:  Convenient when riding in a golf cart.  It also comes with a carrying case with a carabiner so users can just hang it from a golf bag.
• Find My Garmin: Works with the Garmin Golf app. Golfers can use this feature when the Approach Z30 is misplaced.
• Other features:  The Z30 has an IPX7 water rating which means it can withstand incidental exposure to water such as splashes, rain or snow of up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes.  It weighs 210g and its battery can last up to 1 year.
