DSWD warns 4Ps beneficiaries of misleading social media post on payout schedule

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Wednesday, June 19, warned Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries about a “misleading” social media post circulating on Facebook regarding the schedule for grant payouts.

DSWD Assistant Secretary for Disaster Response Management Group and Spokesperson Irene Dumlao said the agency has received reports of a viral post containing unauthorized information, including dates of payouts and supposed names of 4Ps grant recipients.

“The Department wishes to clarify that this information did not come from any of its official channels and may cause confusion among 4Ps beneficiaries,” she said.

Dumlao assured the beneficiaries of the DSWD’s strict adherence to the Data Privacy Act of 2012, ensuring that beneficiary details remain confidential and are not publicly disclosed.

“All official announcements, including payout schedules for the 4Ps program, are also disseminated through the official page of 4Ps,” the DSWD spokesperson said.

Dumlao further explained that the city links and municipal links, assisted by parent leaders, are responsible for directly providing payout schedules to 4Ps the beneficiaries within their respective localities.

Additionally, the Landbank of the Philippines is authorized to release payroll schedules via its official Facebook page once funds have been credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

“We understand the critical role the 4Ps grants in supporting our beneficiaries. We urge everyone to be vigilant against any disinformation or misinformation and to always check our official social media platforms for updates,” Dumlao said.

She urged the beneficiaries of DSWD’s 4Ps to rely exclusively on official sources for accurate information and to “avoid confusion.”
