Senator Raffy Tulfo and Vice President Sara Duterte emerged as the top potential candidates for the May 2028 presidential elections, based on the Pulse Asia survey results released on Tuesday, April 2.
The “Ulat ng Bayan” survey conducted from March 6 to 10 found that Tulfo and Duterte were statistically tied for first place, with 35 percent and 34 percent voter support, respectively.
Former Vice President Leni Robredo trailed behind with 11 percent.
Senator Imee Marcos (5 percent), former Senator Manny Pacquiao (3 percent), Senator Robin Padilla (2 percent) and Senator Risa Hontiveros (1 percent) all received single-digit voter support.
Meanwhile, Speaker Martin Romualdez received a voter preference of 0.5 percent.
Also mentioned as potential presidential contenders were former President Rodrigo Duterte (0.2 percent) and former Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso (0.1 percent).
Five percent responded with “can’t say,” while 2 percent declined to provide an answer.
The first quarter 2024 survey conducted by Pulse Asia in March gathered responses from 1,200 respondents nationwide.
Pulse Asia on Tuesday confirmed that the survey results, which were initially circulated online during the weekend, were derived from rider questions included in the March 2024 Ulat ng Bayan survey.
The following question was specifically posed to the respondents: “Some say that those who can run for the presidency in the 2028 elections are the following. Who would you vote for if the 2028 national elections were held today? You may mention others not included in this list.”
