The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) have agreed to develop an agreement that will provide specific guidelines for expediting the implementation of infrastructure projects.

Officials from the DPWH and the DOTr are set to improve collaboration on the completion of the respective infrastructure projects as part of the administration's "Build Better More" program.

The DOTr proposed developing a DPWH-DOTr Clash Resolution Agreement for the two agencies to make appropriate adjustments to specific projects as needed.

Some concerns were raised by the DOTr over the agency's convergence projects, which include the EDSA Greenways Project, bike lanes, various port and airport facilities, and the highways leading to ports and airports.

However, DPWH Undersecretary for Planning and Public Private Partnership Services Maria Catalina Cabral said they are committed to working closely with the relevant DOTr groups to guarantee that the projects they conduct complement other public infrastructure facilities.

“We hope to hold more coordination meetings with the DOTr and other agencies as we aim to really beef up our efforts to improve mobility across the country, pursuant to the administration’s vision of “Bagong Pilipinas,” said Cabral.
