Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) have rescued 41 passengers and nine crewmen of a motorized banca which almost sank off the waters of San Antonio, Northern Samar on Wednesday, Aug. 2.
In a statement, the PCG said the MBCA Spirit, which came from Victoria town and headed to San Antonio town, was already half-submerged its personnel arrived on the site.

The rescued passengers and crewmen were transferred to another passenger vessel and were transported to San Vicente town.
“The joint search and rescue team also assisted four passengers who needed medical attention until the attending physician declared they were in good physical condition,” the PCG statement read.
Two fishing bancas, meanwhile, towed the MBCA Spirit to San Antonio.
