Region IV-A has the highest number of enrollees, with 3,446,304.
A high number of enrollees was also recorded in Region III, with 2,527,661, and in the National Capital Region (NCR), with 2,468,170.
The enrollment period officially ended on Aug. 26, a few days before classes for the incoming school year start on Aug. 29.
DepEd registers over 22.3 million enrollees for SY 2023-2024

More than 22 million learners from public and private schools have enrolled for the School Year (SY) 2023-2024, according to data released by the Department of Education (DepEd) on Sunday, Aug. 27.
Citing the latest data from the Learner Information System (LIS) Quick Count for the incoming SY, the total number of registered students has reached 22,381,555.
The enrollees are from public and private schools. It also included enrollees in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) that offer basic education programs.
Data from the LIS Quick Count showed that Region IV-A has the highest number of enrollees with 3,446,304. This is followed by Region III with 2,527,661 and the National Capital Region (NCR) with 2,468,170.
While the enrollment period officially ended on Aug. 26, DepEd said that late enrollees will still be accommodated in public schools.

School opening visit
On the first day of classes on Aug. 29, Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte is scheduled to visit Kaluangan 1 Primary School in Asturias, Cebu.
The Melecio Tito Elementary School in Danao City, Cebu is also part of Duterte’s school opening visit itinerary for SY 2023-2024.
In SY 2022-2023, Duterte led the National School Opening Day Program (NSODP) at the Dinalupihan Elementary School in Bataan.
