SPEED, the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors, embarks on an outreach program in Bulacan today, July 7, in celebration of our 6th anniversary.

The twin events will benefit the children at Bethany House Santo Nino Orphanage in Guiguinto and the elderly residents of Emmaus House of Apostolate in Malolos.

SPEED recently welcomed two new members, the Bulletin’s very own Robert Requintina, and the Philippine Star’s Nathalie Tomada.

SPEED, currently headed by Eugene Asis of People’s Journal, is committed to making a positive impact in the entertainment industry. The all-editors body is giving out the EDDY Awards for movies in September.

Action is the way to go on TV primetime war.

And Dingdong Dantes makes a big comeback to TV via new GMA series, “Royal Blood.” Projects such as these make Dingdong an all-around actor, one who shines not only as a romantic leading man but also as a gun-firing action star.

Side by side the new series is a family drama film under Star Cinema plus partners that the veteran actor is doing opposite Marian Rivera, their big screen reunion after more than 10 years.

Royal Blood, a murder-mystery drama, tells the story of Napoy (Dingdong), a single father who struggles to provide for his daughter’s needs by working as a motorcycle rider.

One fine day, he is accused of having murdered his own father, who happens to be a rich businessman.

“Royal Blood” also features Megan Young, Dion Ignacio, Mikael Daez, Lianne Valentin, Benjie Paras,  Arthur Solinap, Tirso Cruz III, and Rhian Ramos.

Introduced in the action-packed family drama is Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo.

Speaking of Dingdong, his wife, Marian Rivera revealed during a recent media conference how she would lather him up with her favorite lotion every night even as he’s asleep.

Marian said her lotion ritual is one best way to send her husband to sleep. She added that she’s too much of a lotion and moisturizer person, which was why it has been so easy for her to accept an offer to be the face of Blanc Pro, Rhea Tan’s new business venture, a companion piece to the already very successful Beautederm.

Blanc Pro, introduced as as an affordable skincare brand, has just launched a line of body lotion, body wash, charcoal foam, and sleeping mask.

PASSERBY:

Birthdays become more meaningful when you get a sudden invite from the Superstar and National Artist to meet up for lunch to celebrate my June 25 milestone. I dropped everything to rush to Mario’s QC where Ms Nora Aunor was already seated in a table for five.

After lunch, we paid a visit to our good friend, the legendary movie chronicler Ethel Ramos, who needs prayers. Ethel recognized us, even made an effort to thank Nora for the surprise visit.
