“Due the rising numbers of establishments engaging in unregulated dispensation of liquor and other intoxicating drinks resulting in improper conduct and harmful behavior, I am ordering the allowing the sale from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. only,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas in Executive Order No. 2023-092.

Treñas ordered members of the Iloilo Bar Operators Association (IBOA) and other restaurants to comply with the security training of personnel such as bouncers and security guards which was earlier agreed upon in December 2022 in the aftermath of several brawls that videos of which quickly spread online.

EO 2023-092 authorized the Iloilo City Task Force on Morals and Values Formation (Iloilo City TFMVF) and the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) to randomly check bars and other establishments for compliance.
