New top cops for Caraga, 2 Metro Manila police districts in latest PNP revamp


The Caraga region and two police districts  in Metro Manila will have new top cops following another reorganization in the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief which affected 11 senior officials.

Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft was named as the new director of the Police Regional Office-Caraga, replacing Police Brig. Gen. Pablo Labra who was assigned to the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit (PHAU) of the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management Camp Crame in Quezon City.

Kraft will be replaced by Police Brig. Gen. Roderick Mariano as the new Southern Police District (SPD) director. 

Police Brig. Gen. Rizalito Gapas was designated as the new director of the Northern Police District. He replaced Police Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones, Jr. who was named as the acting chief of the Legislative Affairs Center (LAC) of the PNP Directorate for Plans.

Gapas will be replaced by Police Col. Manuel Abrugena as the new Special Action Force deputy director.

Police Col. Frankie Candelario was assigned to the PNP Intelligence Group; Police Cols. Jason Capoy to the PNP Academy; Col. Jun Mark Lagare to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG); Col. Cresenciano Landicho to the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management; Col. Rex Arvin Malimban to SAF; and, Col. Eleazar Matta.

Candelario was reassigned to the PNP Intelligence Group (from the Northern Mindanao regional police office), while Capoy was sent to PNP Academy (from the Police Security and Protection Group), Lagare was detailed with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG); Landicho, to Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (from PHAU); Malimbam, to SAF; and Matta, to the Caraga regional police office.
