Erwin Tulfo tops commissioned SWS senatorial survey

Former President Rodrigo Duterte places 2nd


ACT-CIS party-list representative and former Social Welfare and Development Secretary Erwin Tulfo topped the voter preference for senators in a commissioned April 2023 survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

According to the national survey results, Tulfo received the highest percentage of senatorial voter preference (32 percent), followed by former President Rodrigo Duterte (25 percent).

A list of names provided by former LPGMA Rep. Arnel Ty was shown to 1,200 respondents surveyed from April 15 to 18.

The exact phrasing of the survey question was: “Kung ang eleksiyon ay gaganapin ngayon, sino ang pinakamalamang ninyong iboboto bilang mga senador ng Pilipinas? Narito po ang listahan ng mga pangalan ng mga kandidato. Maaari po kayong pumili ng hanggang 12 pangalan. (If elections were to take place today, whom would you most probably vote for as senators of the Philippines? Here is a list of names of candidates. You can mention up to 12 names).”

Also included in the top 12 spots were Senator Pia Cayetano (23 percent), Senator Christopher “Bong” Go (20 percent), former Senator Manny Pacquiao (19 percent), Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto (18 percent), Senator Imee Marcos (18 percent), former Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III (18 percent), Senator Lito Lapid (17 percent), former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson (16 percent), former Vice President Jejomar Binay (15 percent), and former Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso (15 percent).
