NOW & Cisco deploy 5G SA nationwide

NOW Corporation, NOW Telecom Company, Inc. and Cisco International Limited on Thursday, April 27  disclosed they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deploy 5G technology nationwide.
The collaboration will facilitate NOW’s transformation into a digital service and mobile telecommunications provider enabling the Philippines' 2030 Vision and National Transformation Plan. Furthermore, it will bring monetizable 5G solutions to the public sector, key enterprise verticals and consumers.
Specifically, it will benefit NOW’s Enterprise customers in the manufacturing, logistics, port operations, banking, and BPO industries.
By leveraging Cisco's solutions as-a-service, NOW can now provide its customers with speed, agility, and scalability to their specific business needs. The partnership allows NOW access to Cisco's solutions, the latest in connectivity, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and other advanced technologies.
"The NOW Group is determined to bring about true 5G and NBN technologies in the Philippines," says Mel Velarde, Chairman of NOW. "Given the ongoing digitization of businesses, mobile carriers will require the advanced capabilities of 5G networks such as high speed, low latency, reliability, and dynamic provisioning," explained Sanjay Kaul, President of Service Provider for Cisco in the Asia Pacific & Japan region. "Through our partnership with NOW, we can support their network infrastructure's transition into this new era of digitization by harnessing the potential of 5G technology." NOW can also take advantage of Cisco's extensive experience and expertise in providing solutions for various industries.
Overall, the partnership combinesNOW Telecom's local market knowledge and customer relationships with Cisco's global reach and expertise in providing advanced networking solutions.
