Self-confessed killer of his own mother charged with parricide

A man who confessed killing his own mother, whose body was placed in a storage box, has been charged with parricide before the Department of Justice (DOJ), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Wednesday, March 15.

NBI Spokesperson Giselle Dumlao said Raymund Villastique was presented before the DOJ for inquest by the NBI’s Anti-Organized and Transnational Crime Division (NBI-AOTCD).

Dumlao said that Villastique, 28, had executed an extrajudicial confession for his crime.

In his affidavit, Villastique admitted that he killed in mother, 67-year-old Maria Estrella Villastique, in their house in Pasig City using a piece of wood, Dumlao said.

The body of the mother was later found in Norzagaray, Bulacan inside a storage box.

Closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footages were recovered showing the suspect dragging the box into his vehicle.

After the killing and the disposal of the body, Villastique surrendered to the Pasig City police.
