DHL PH adds new large aircraft in its fleet

The DHL Express Philippines has added a large aircraft in its fleet in a bid to improve its services in the country that would pave the way for overnight air delivery services and support express services in the country and then Asia Pacific region.

Nigel Lockett, country Manager for DHL Express Philippines, said the aircraft is part of 15-year-agreement that DHL has entered into with AHK Air Hong Kong Limited and Cathay Pacific and is operating at an earlier schedule.

He said inbound flights to Manila now arrive earlier by fifteen hours while arrivals in Cebu have also been brought forward nine hours, leading to shipments arriving in the morning instead of the evening.

This enables same-day delivery of shipments instead of next-day, he said.

"We continue to invest in our business in the Philippines and we are proud to bring these improvements to the country. Our new and larger aircraft is a firm commitment to serving our customers, and ensure that we are prepared to support their growth at a global scale and respond to the needs and demands of the market,” said Lockett.

Recently, DHL Express has also added 18 new electric vehicles to its ground fleet in the country, further reducing its environmental impact.

"We consistently upgrade and enhance our air and ground infrastructure to ensure our customers can get faster international deliveries," said Promod George, Senior Director for Operations at DHL Express Philippines, for his part.

"Our larger aircraft and earlier schedule will significantly improve our ability to support our customers with increased capacity and better transit time,” he added.
