18.72% pass August 2023 civil service exam — CSC

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) said 64,635 individuals passed the August 2023 Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT), which was administered in 95 testing locations across the country.

This means that 18.72 percent of the 345,194 test takers on Aug. 20 passed.

Of the total number of examinees who passed, 56,942 will be granted Career Service Professional Eligibility, while 7,693 will be granted Career Service Subprofessional Eligibility.

“I am proud to welcome all passers to the roster of civil service eligibles. You have hurdled the first and most basic step toward building a life in public service. I hope that you will soon find the opportunity to become a civil servant and share your strengths, your passion, and your motivation for helping Filipinos,” CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles said.

Metro Manila had the highest passing rate of 26.03 percent, or 12,548 out of 48,203 examinees.

Region III (Central Luzon) came in second with 22.5 percent or 5,452 passers out of 24,231 examinees, and the Cordillera Administrative Region came in third with 21.28 percent or 3,029 passers out of 14,235 examinees.

The List of Passers for the August 2023 CSE-PPT can be found on the left side of the CSC website via the Examination Results widget.

Examinees may also go directly to the CSC Examination Portal to view the results.

Individuals with professional eligibility are eligible for permanent appointment to both first level (clerical) and second level (technical) positions within the career service that do not involve professional practice and are not covered by the bar, board, or other laws.

Meanwhile, subprofessional eligibility is only applicable to first-level positions.

However, the CSC emphasized that eligibility on its own is insufficient for an appointment to a position in government service.

To be fully qualified, an applicant must also fulfill the position's requirements for education, experience, training, and other competencies.

Both successful and unsuccessful examinees may generate their individual test result using the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System by Nov. 18.

Meanwhile, passers may request for their Certification of Eligibility (CoE) on CSC official letterhead or on security paper by Dec. 4.

However, it is highly recommended that they confirm the availability of the CoE for collection before visiting the CSC Regional Office or CSC Field Office.
