It has been an eventful year for many countries thus far, and part of what makes this year interesting is the reaffirmation of cooperation and friendship among many nations.
Such is the case between the Philippines and Oman, as the latter celebrated its 53rd National Day, which also commemorated 43 years of bilateral relations that started in October 1980.
“We have witnessed an all-round growth of the relations with progress at various levels and across a broad spectrum of areas,” says H.E. Nasser Said Abdullah Almanwari, ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Philippines during their National Day celebrations held at the Makati Shangri-la last Nov. 21. “Today, Oman is a home [to] around 50,000 overseas Filipino workers that significantly contribute [to the] Oman economy.”
Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs Eduardo Jose De Vega, for his part, reaffirms the good relationship between the two countries.
“I look forward to further deepening our bilateral relations and cooperation in the fields of human resources, culture, trade and investment, and agriculture,” De Vega says. “With your commitment to peace, dialogue, and religious tolerance, I am confident that our cooperation and cordial relations will reach new heights in the forthcoming years.”
