'A Night of Classics' features Jordan Shangkuan Ong

"A Night of Classics" by Dr. Josephine Shangkuan-Ong features international award-winning concert pianist, Jordan Shangkuan Ong, at the Manila Piano in Makati on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 6 pm.

Dubbed the "Philippine Lang Lang," Jordan will be performing with world-renowned pianist, Dr. Oliver Salonga, and Chinese Orchestra conductor, Danny Chin (a.k.a. Chen Wen Hua).

Event will be hosted by Chinatown TV, under the leadership of CEO, Lolita Ching and Director, Lani Esteban. 

Jordan’s repertoire will include Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, Chopin’s Scherzo, and Rachmaninoff’s Concerto No. 2., as well as popular Chinese and Filipino folk songs.

Jordan is the youngest son of Dr. DeWitt Ong and Dr. Josephine Shangkuan Ong. He comes from a prominent musical family that includes opera librettist, Elder Shih Chang Shangkuan, award-winning producer, Rebecca Shangkuan, international choral conductor, Pearl Shangkuan, and conductor Beverly Shangkuan.

Jordan started to get recognized at age 5 when he won the Arizona Young Artist award. He has been featured on TV networks ABC and NBC among the Best and Brightest Young Stars. He also won first place in the Russian Triumph International Competition, in 2018, 1st place in the Kirov International Competition in 2019, 1st place in the Costa Rica International Competition in 2017. He has also performed with the Costa Rica National Orchestra.
